Ironman recruits Arsenal's Brown to European sponsorship role
Will Brown, director for Asia at Premier League outfit Arsenal, has moved to Ironman, the long-distance triathlon brand owned by China’s Wanda Sports Holding, to become its vice-president of global partnerships in Europe.
Having left his Singapore-based position with Arsenal, Brown is heading up sponsorship sales and premium activities for all Ironman properties in Europe, including the Ironman and Ironman 70.3 triathlon series, the UCI Velothon cycling series, the ITU World Triathlon Series and the UCI Pro Tour Hamburg Cyclassics.
Brown spent six years at Arsenal, where he was also a board member and director, having previously worked in sponsorship sales at Manchester United.
He joined Arsenal in 2012 and also worked as partnership development director in Africa and the Americas.
Matthieu van Veen, Ironman’s chief revenue officer, said: “We are excited to bring someone of Will’s caliber and record of success to our leadership team in Europe. Will’s international sports experience will serve to greatly benefit our European partners.
“As we look to develop our ever growing portfolio of events in running, cycling and mountain biking, he will lead the global partnerships team’s continued efforts in creating best in class integrated and innovative partnerships.”
