Dafabet pots another snooker deal with English Open sponsorship
Dafabet, the Philippines-based betting company, is to lend its name to snooker’s English Open after agreeing a title sponsorship deal with World Snooker, the sport’s commercial arm.
Through the agreement, the forthcoming tournament is to be named the Dafabet English Open.
The event will take place at the Barnsley Metrodome from 16 to 22 October.
Dafabet is already the title sponsor of the Masters, the prestigious invitation tournament, in a deal running to 2020
The English Open forms part of World Snooker’s Home Nations series and will be followed by tournaments in Belfast, Glasgow and Cardiff.
Commenting on the deal, Barry Hearn, chairman of World Snooker, said: “Dafabet have shown tremendous support for snooker having sponsored a range of events including the Masters. The tournament will be televised live to many millions of people on Eurosport and Quest, bringing outstanding exposure for Dafabet’s brand.
