World Sailing unveils bid process for 2022 World Championships
World Sailing, the sport’s international governing body, has released the bidding guidelines for its World Championships in 2022.
Preliminary bids from host cities and national federations interested in staging the quadrennial championships must be received by World Sailing by 1 November.
The final bids will need to be submitted by 1 March, 2018.
World Sailing will then appoint an evaluation commission to assess the bids, with the commission meeting at the federation’s new headquarters in London in March or April 2018 to receive presentations from the candidates.
The evaluations commission will make its recommendations to the World Sailing board, which will choose the host venue for the 2022 World Championships in May 2018.
